About This Project

This initiative was launched through the Tech to the Rescue program, where Eclipse committed to becoming the development partner to bring the MiR Foundation’s vision to life. This project is more than just a technological upgrade; it represents a new era of accessibility and empowerment for the visually impaired community in Poland. Eclipse’s collaboration with the MiR Foundation showcases the power of technology to break barriers, simplify processes, and create meaningful impact.

Goal & Scope

The project’s core objective is to implement an advanced ChatBot solution capable of delivering accurate answers in Polish, drawn directly from the MiR Foundation's site content. The ChatBot will be trained to provide precise and contextual responses to commonly asked questions.

Beyond simply providing information, the ChatBot will help reduce the dependency on alternative communication channels such as the organization’s helpline, which is not part of their core services but has seen increased demand due to website navigation challenges.

Eclipse’s role is pivotal: to design and build a fully tailored solution that integrates seamlessly with the MiR Foundation’s WordPress platform while maintaining a strong focus on accessibility and user-friendly interaction.

Challenges and Considerations

The MiR Foundation has spent considerable time researching ChatBot solutions and identifying their specific needs. Their findings highlighted the following challenges:

1. Budget Constraints

While premium, subscription-based chatbot solutions offered advanced features, they were prohibitively expensive for the foundation.

2. Technical Limitations

Open-source tools, while cost-effective, required technical expertise that the foundation’s team did not possess.

3. Critical Needs

Any solution must be tailored to the foundation’s target audience—visually impaired individuals—and ensure maximum accessibility, intuitive functionality, and linguistic accuracy in Polish.

Given these constraints, the foundation sought a development partner who could not only build the solution but also provide guidance throughout the integration and setup process. With Eclipse’s expertise, the project aims to overcome these barriers and deliver a cost-effective, highly functional ChatBot.
